🎊Bonus: Identifying Values and Traits
Are you trying to get a group of people to better understand one another and the traits they each identify with?
Here is a very simple exercise that can help:
Each person gets a piece of paper and pen
They each write the names of ~5 people they admire. How well they know the person doesn't matter. It could be a close family member or a celebrity they never met.
For each of the ~5 people, they write ~5 traits they admire about them.
For the ~25 traits (~5 people * ~5 traits) they look for any that appear repeatedly.
Everyone shares with the rest of the group the traits that are most commonly occuring for them
Each person can answer any questions from rest of the group if comfortable.
This whole exercise can be done in 1 hour with a group of ~7 people.
As an example:
I admire Charlie Munger. I haven't met him yet.
The traits I admire about him are curiousity, longevity and wisdom
These 3 traits appear more than once when I list out some other people I admire
A question someone might ask me is “how do you express curiosity in your daily life?”
Try the exercise out and if you need any help to facilitate this, let me know!
Good luck.
